Ironically, the death of astronaut Neil Armstrong occurred while several Andy Warhol “Moonwalk” works were on display at the Tifton Museum of Arts and Heritage. Warhol was one of the most important and influential artists of the 20th century and the leading figure in the visual art movement known as Pop Art. Shown is Cochran Collection owner Wes Cochran talking with Donald Dorminey, who worked with Warhol in Manhattan on one special exhibition. The show continues at the Tifton Museum of Arts and Heritage through Sept. 14. Hours are from Sunday, 1-4 p.m.; Tuesday – Thursday, 11 a.m.-7 p.m.; and Friday, 11 a.m.-5 p.m.

County millage rate remains same
Tift County Commissioners voted unanimously in a called meeting Tuesday to keep the millage rate set at 12.183 for both incorporated and unincorporated areas of the county.

I was able to take a trip down to Tampa this past weekend with my mom to see my niece in her dance recital.We didn’t get to see her dance in her recital. She kept saying she was sick, and we all kept saying, “You’ll be OK...it’s just nerves.”
