TIFTON —
Tift County Lady Devils Brakia Bateman and Dee Dee Deshazer inked national letters of intent this week to play college basketball at Columbus State University. Columbus State head coach Jonathan Norton said in an e-mail statement, “Dee Dee Deshazer and Brakia Bateman are high school teammates that form a dynamic backcourt. Brakia is a tremendous athlete that can really defend and push the ball up the floor. Dee Dee is a tremendous shooter.” He also added that Bateman and Deshazer are expected to contribute immediately. At the signing, Deshazer and Bateman were joined by their families, TCHS athletic director Rusty Smith, TCHS assistant coach Erick Willis, TCHS Principal Kim Siegler and Lady Devil head coach Julie Conner. “I am so proud and excited about the future for Brakia and Dee Dee.”

Unfortunately, so do identity thieves. They set up machines called skimmers on gas pumps and ATMs that are designed to fool you and benefit them. Fields played, coached three eras of basketball
Imagine a player averaging 29 points per game for a career and receiving no college scholarship offers. That happened to Dona Fields.
Fields, as Dona Gaskins, is easily Berrien High's all-time leading scorer. She scored her 1,000th point as a sophomore and during her last three seasons was the Rebelettes' leading scorer in every game. She received no college attention, no offers. - Kilgore resigns baseball post at ABAC
