Property review
TIFTON — The Tift County appraisal staff will be reviewing property in the following locations through Friday of this week: Properties bordering Highway 82 west to the southern boundary of the county and west of I-75 to the county line. Farmer's Market
TIFTON — The Saturday farmers' market is now closed. The First Thursday markets will still be open each month from 4-7 p.m. at the train museum depot, corner of Tift and Third in downtown Tifton. For more information, call Fran at the Main Street Program, 556-7439.

TIFTON — A local special medical account has been set up under the name Mary McAllister at Ameris Bank, corner of Old Ocilla Highway and 20th Street, to accept donations for the Georgia Transplant Foundation. Jordan Daniel Fund
TIFTON — A fund has been set up at Ameris Bank to assist 22-year-old Jordan Daniel, a Tifton native injured in an accident Dec. 24 in Hazlehurst. He is the son of Tim and Renee Daniel of Tifton. Georgia Cotton Pageant
TIFTON — Applications are being taken for the eighth annual Miss Georgia Cotton Scholarship Pageant to be held Jan. 30 at the Tift Theatre. The age divisions are Baby, Teeny, Tiny, Little, Petite, Junior, Teen and Miss from 6 months to 23 years of age. TIFTON — The Tifton 20th Century Library Club will meet at 3 p.m. today at the United Way Building on Fourth Street. Newcomer’s Club
TIFTON — The Newcomers’ Club of Tifton will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday at the United Way Community Center on Fourth Street. The club provides educational, social, and service activities for women new to the area to stimulate new friendships and a stronger sense of community. NARFE MEETING
TIFTON — All active and retired federal employees are encouraged to meet the second Thursday of each month at Old Times Country Buffet on Highway 82. The next meeting will be held at 10:30 a.m. this Thursday (Jan. 14) for a Dutch treat luncheon and business meeting. Fitness Run
TIFTON — The ABAC Stallion 5K/1mile Fitness Run will be held Saturday. Registration begins at 7:45 a.m. at the Red Hill Tennis Complex at ABAC with the run beginning at 9 a.m. Registration fee is $20; a family of four may register for $45.
