Class Reunion

TIFTON — The Tifton High School Class of 1949 will hold their 60th class reunion Oct. 10.



Step Out for Your Heart

TIFTON — Tift Regional Medical Center’s annual Stepping Out For Your Heart 5K run will be held at 8 a.m. Saturday, and the one mile walk will start at 9 a.m. at TCHS Northeast Campus. There will be a special Champions Fun Walk at 8:45 a.m. to honor all heart disease and stroke survivors. The registration fee for adults is $18 and $5 for children age 11 and under. Family Reunion

TIFTON — The Harrell, Hill and Oliver family reunion will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Fulwood Park, Shelter 9. In the case of rain, the reunion will be moved to Pineview Holiness Baptist Church, 4872 Old Union Road. Everyone is asked to bring a covered dish. Save Our Steamtrain

TIFTON — The Agrirama will have a Train Rededication ceremony at 6 p.m. Saturday at the Peanut Museum. Admission is free. Refreshments, music and train rides will be available.



Freedom Fund Banquet

TIFTON — The Tifton-Tift County Branch of NAACP will hold their Freedom Fund Banquet at 6 p.m. Saturday at the Leroy Rogers Senior Center. This year’s theme is “Honoring our Past, Celebrating our Future, 100 years and Counting.” Guest speaker will be Judge Larry B. Mims, and 100-year honorees will be Daughtry “Doc” Melton Sr., Samuel Brown, the Rev. Milton Merritt, Thurman Walker and Patricia Melton. Tickets are $15. Family Reunion

TIFTON — There will be a Mullis Family Reunion at 11 a.m. Saturday at Oak Grove Baptist Church, Hwy. 319 S. Bring a covered dish for lunch and any old family pictures or other items of interest. For more information contact Tommy Mullis at 386-2835.

TIFTON — The Taylor-Grantham family reunion will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at Fulwood Park.



Library Club

TIFTON — The Tifton 20th Century Library Club will meet at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the United Way Community Center on Fourth Street. The Conservation Department will host the meeting. A member of the GaFWC, the group welcomes prospective members.



ABC Council

TIFTON — The Annie Belle Clark School Council will meet at noon Tuesday in the front office.



Fundraising Raffle

TIFTON — The giveaway of a three-wheel Victory 10 Scooter, retail priced at $1,495 will be raffled off at $5 a ticket at noon Thursday. The proceeds will go to the Alzheimer’s Association to fund local programs and services to support those living with Alzheimer’s disease and their caregivers, and to fund research initiatives nationwide. Tickets are available at MRS Homecare in Tifton and through MRS employees.



Memory Walk

TIFTON —The Alzheimer’s Association Memory Walk will be held Saturday, Oct. 17, at Eighth Street Middle School. Registration begins at 9 a.m. with the walk scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. The Alzheimer's Association’s mission is to eliminate Alzheimer's disease through the advancement of research, to provide and enhance care and support for all affected and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health. Marker Dedication

TIFTON — A marker dedication for Confederate Soldier Pvt. William Clarence Sumner, who served with Company C 1st Georgia Infantry “Republican Blues,” will be held at 3 p.m. Oct. 18 at Oakridge Cemetery. For more information, call Faye S. Pendarvis at (863) 937-7727.

Railroad Club

ALBANY — The Flint River Model Railroad Club of Albany will host an open house from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 14 at 106 N. Washington Ave. The event is free and open to the public. Running layouts of all sizes will be on display for viewing.



Farmers’ Market

TIFTON — The Farmers Market will continue to open each Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon and from 4 to 7 p.m. the first Thursday of every month. Stop by for seasonal local produce. The market is located at the Railway Depot in downtown Tifton. Call 559-7439 for more information.



Ceramics Exhibit

TIFTON — The Atlantic Coastline Artist Guild at 119 Love Ave. is hosting a Ceramics Exhibit by Kelly King from 2 to 4 p.m. Wednesdays. Individual or group appointments are possible; call Dr. Charles Styer at 382-6453 for more information.
