Health and Fitness Fair

TIFTON — TRMC, Kingdom Fitness and PLIGHT Inc. will sponsor a Health and Fitness Fair 2010 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. today at the Neighborhood Service Center, 2731 S. Central Ave. The fair will include health screenings, fitness boot camp for kids and an “Eat This, Not That” segment. For more information, call Olga White at 386-4360.



Friendship Group

BROOKFIELD — The Brookfield Friendship Group will meet at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the social hall of Brookfield United Methodist Church for a covered-dish dinner.



Golden Age Club

TIFTON — The Tifton Golden Age Club will meet at 11 a.m. March 4 for a meeting and covered-dish lunch. Cynthia Diamond with Bethany Hospice will be the guest speaker. Anyone age 55 and over is invited to attend.



Talent Search

TIFTON — The Arts in Black Talent Search registration deadline will be March 5. The show will be held at 7 p.m. March 26. For more information, call PLIGHT at 386-4360.



Super Cruise In

TIFTON — The Georgia Street Rod Association and the Tiftarea Auto Club will host the “Super Cruise In” beginning at 1 p.m. March 6 at Checkers Restaurant. DJ Philgood will play oldies and Checkers will offer discounts to those displaying streetrods, hotrods, ratrods, musclecars, classic cars, antique automobiles and other collectible vehicles. Parrish family reunion

ADEL — The Parrish family reunion will be held March 7 at the Cook County Exchange Club Building, West Mitchell Street, Adel. The family will gather at 11:30 a.m. and eat at 12:30 p.m. Sharon and Melvyn Rowan will present a program, “The Flag of the United States of America.” Attendees are asked to bring a covered dish; beverages and utensils will be provided. S. GA. COMMUNITY SERVICE BD.

TIFTON — The South Georgia Community Service Board, dba Behavioral Health Services of South Georgia, providing treatment in the areas of mental health, developmental disabilities and addictive diseases, will meet at 2 p.m. March 9 at the Cook Service Center. For directions, call (229) 671-6102. There will be a sign-in sheet and agenda available at the meeting and, as time allows, 15 minutes will be devoted to public comments. You may present written comments if you prefer.



Sunset Tifton

TIFTON — Tifton-Tift County Chamber of Commerce Sunset Tifton will meet from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. March 11 at the new Partners Benefit/Financial Group, 1476 Carpenter Road.



Relay for Life Pageant

TIFTON — The fifth annual Miss Relay For Life of Tift County Pageant will be held March 20 at Tift County High School Performing Arts Center. Girls ages 0-22 may participate. All proceeds benefit the Tift County Relay. For more info call Karen Kramer at 848-0229.



Tour de Tifton

TIFTON — The Tour de Tifton charity bicycle ride will begin at 8 a.m. March 27 at Tiftarea YMCA. The tour will have a 15-mile, 25-mile and 62-mile ride option. For more information, go to the YMCA Web site at www.tiftareaymca.org.





Class Reunion

TIFTON — The annual Tifton Cotton Mill and Emmanuel School Reunion will be held March 27 at Ferry Lake Clubhouse. Bring a covered dish and a beverage. Paper products and ice will be provided. Registration begins at 11 a.m. followed by a brief business meeting. Lunch will be served at 12:30 p.m. There will be door prizes. For more information, call Mary Le Hayes Sheppard at 388-8083.



Sunset Tifton

TIFTON — Tifton-Tift County Chamber of Commerce Sunset Tifton will meet from 4 to 6 p.m. April 29 at the Hilton Garden Inn, 201 Boo Drive.



Property review

TIFTON — The Tift County appraisal staff will be reviewing taxpayer returns and conservation use applications filed from Jan. 1 through the present and land divisions that occurred during 2009; a Mobile Decal review and delinquent mobile home tax review will also be conducted. The purpose of the property review is verification of property records and mobile home decal display. For more information, call the assessor’s office at 386-7840.



Farmer's Market

TIFTON — The farmers' market will remain on a winter hiatus until March. Starting in March, the market will be open on the first TUESDAY of the month, 3-6 p.m. Saturday markets will begin in May. Scholarship Pageant

TIFTON — The Teeny Miss (1-4), Little Miss (5-12), Junior Miss (13-16), Miss (17-21) Black Tiftarea Scholarship Pageant will be held in July and is looking for young women of color to participate.
