Severe punishment
“I see where some weak-minded people threw the bodies out from a crematory and didn’t cremate them, just stacked them up all around the place, and now the lawmakers are trying to figure out what to do about it. They said, ‘Oh well, what we’re going to do now is to pass a bill that will make it up to three years in a penitentiary for anybody that does that.’ Now ain’t that terrible? Just three years. If that’s all they’re going to do is up to three years, they shouldn’t even waste money trying to pass the bill. They should take them out and shoot them, anybody that would take the body of a beloved person that way and throw them in the bushes or just lay them out to rot away. They should be taken before a firing squad.”
Across the board
“I would just like to say to all of those who opposed Mike Tyson fighting in Georgia because of his violent past, please consider this: When the Ku Klux Klan files an application for a permit to march or have a rally here in the state of Georgia, that this group’s past history of violence makes Mike look like a chorus boy.”
Not important
“It appears that if Roy Barnes and Austin Scott would concentrate on the job they were elected to do instead of worrying about a sporting event, they may be able to find a solution for some of the problems that are plaguing the state.”
Defending the park
“To the person who thought the park was in terrible shape … the general public should take a little time and walk a mile in the shoes of those who work in the park. These people work hard at what they do and to read such criticism makes me so angry. They have volunteers from the elementary schools that bring small children out to pick up pine cones. If you had time to sit and watch the ‘worker’, you had time to pick up a few pine cones.”
Not appropriate
“A Rave for the great Jump Rope for Heart fundraiser at Northside Primary, but along with it goes a Rant. Some of the music played that afternoon while the kids were jumping was very inappropriate. I’d like to know if the adults there were actually listening to the words in some of the songs? There were kids in K-3rd grade being encouraged to dance and sing to these songs. That is just not right.”
Get the facts right
“To the person that seemed to have all the so called ‘facts’ about mall cruisers. Where did these facts come from because I have never seen it published anywhere that 90 percent of them are dangerous or up to no good or that all cruisers are going to be deaf and blind someday. Where do you come up with this nonsense?”
Not a problem
“This is about the cruising, Tift County has nowhere for the teens to go. I would rather know that my child is at the mall, where everyone can see them, than to be out on the roads racing, drinking, and no telling what else. At least you can ride up town and see your child now around the mall, and not sit at home wondering where they are. At least you know where they are now. I have been there, they allowed us to cruise, it gave us a chance to see our friends. The teens now drive a lot worse than we did, there are more accidents now than then. That is why I am supporting them to cruise the mall. The mall closes at 9 p.m. Why would anyone need to be at the mall shopping?”
