Stallions walk off first victory

TIFTON — Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College scored single runs in the 8th and 9th innings Friday for a comeback 8-7 victory over Cleveland State, Tennessee. It was the first victory of 2024 for the Stallions.

Wyatt Talik crossed home on a balk in the 8th. With the bases loaded in the 9th, Chasin Cash was able to walk home when Hunter Robinson was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded.
The Stallions got a 1st inning home run from C.J. Rose and two RBIs each from Rose and Cash in the win. Seven different ABAC players scored, Kenton Collier twice.
Colby Schlachtner pitched two spotless innings of relief to record the win. He struck out three. J.R. Fordham started on the hill, going 3 2/3 innings before running into trouble. Trypp Lumpkin gave up one run in three relief frames.
ABAC will host Cleveland State again in a Saturday doubleheader starting at noon. These are the last home games for nearly a month; the Stallions spend most of February in Florida, then finally get a Sunshine State school at home (Santa Fe) on Feb. 27.
