TIFTON — The Tiftarea House of Hope aims to lend aid to the homeless of the area with the return of its annual Run for Hope this weekend.

Community members are invited to take part in the fundraiser the morning of March 9 to raise money for the nonprofit in their mission to provide shelter, support, and basic need to homeless women in the area.

Participants will have the option of running a 5K or supporting the mission through a more casual 1-mile fun run. Each entry will add a ticket to the event’s raffle, which will be drawn prior to the start of the run.

Following the marathon, participants will receive awards, with both a male and female winner being declared for each age group, as well as a masters and overall winner.

The run will begin at 8:30 Saturday morning at the First Baptist Church of Tifton. Entry will cost $25 for the 5K, $15 for the fun run, and $10 for fun run participants 18 and under, with all three providing a t-shirt as supplies last.
