AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAM

Kids Advocacy Coalition After-School Program

After School Child Care Program

“KAC provides a safe, welcoming and affordable after school care setting for children,” according to school officials.

“KAC encourages a variety of recreational, social, and academically oriented activities. KAC is a licensed program meeting all requirements mandated from Bright from the Start: Georgia Department of Early Care & Learning.

“KAC offers after-school child care to all children without regard to race, color, national origin, sex or handicap status.”

Kids Advocacy Coalition Mission Statement

“The Kids’ Advocacy Coalition After School Child Care Program is designed to enrich children’s lives educationally, socially, culturally, emotionally, physically, and provide a safe setting for children to reduce the number of children home alone.

“The KAC program meets the needs of children by creating an environment that offers a base of warmth and security while at the same time providing a variety of recreational, social, and academically oriented activities. The children are provided a daily snack to meet nutritional needs. The program also meets the needs of the children by increasing opportunities for inter-generational interaction and by supplementing nurture provided by the family.

“The KAC program meets the needs of parents by offering a safe, accessible, affordable program that is school-based. Parents are included in the decision making process through representation on the childcare advisory committee.

“The KAC program meets the needs of the community by providing a safe environment for children. Therefore, children are not unsupervised or on the streets, so parents need not worry about their welfare and can be more efficient on the job.

“The Kids’ Advocacy offers participation to people of different racial, cultural, and economic backgrounds to insure the diversity and strength of programs. KAC offers programs and assistance to children and families without regard to race, color, national origin, sex or disability status.”
