WARNER ROBINS — Tift County tennis teams split road matches against Veterans Tuesday, Feb. 13.

The defending region champs Blue Devils swept Veterans’ Warhawks, 5-0, but the Lady Devils fell, 3-2.

No Tift player dropped as much as a set in the team win. Three matches saw straight sets of 6-0, 6-0.

The perfect scores happened in with Elijah Hellman at No. 3 singles and with both doubles matches. Tyson Lasseter and Matthew Layfield are at No. 1 doubles and Seth Denham and Ross Peters are at No. 2 singles.

Maitrey Patel won at No. 1 singles, 6-3, 6-4 and Joshua Hellman was victorious at No. 2 singles, 6-2, 6-1.

Tift’s girls earned their victories in doubles.

Perrin Turner and Kate Carpenter won, 6-4, 5-7, 7-6 (7-1) and Madison Garner and Kenyaria Morrow won their match, 6-3, 6-6 (7-3).

Riley Griffin fell 3-6, 1-6 at No. 1 singles. Anna Lupo dropped a 3-6, 4-6 match and Scout Saturday fell, 0-6, 2-6.

Tennis will host Houston County Feb. 15 at 4 p.m.
