Good service

“I do business with South Georgia Banking Co., and I would like to say thank you to some of the ladies there, Dawn, Elizabeth, Yvonne and Judy. They always greet me with a smile. They always help me with my checking accounts and IRA and they give me very good service.”

A shame

“I think it is pathetic that able-bodied people park in handicap spots. This happens a lot at Hamilton Park, where there is lots of parking if you are willing to walk.”

Go team

I want to say congratulations to the Tift County Blue Devils. They played a very good game Friday night. Now let’s get ready for Northside of Warner Robins. We can make it all the way! Good job, Blue. Keep up the good work. We’re behind you all the way.”

Don’t be fooled

“Third party candidates run as spoilers for one party or the other. In 1992 Ross Perot ran as a spoiler for George H. Bush. In 2000 Ralph Nader ran as a spoiler for Al Gore. Nader’s present campaign is inconsequential. In this election Bob Barr is the potential spoiler candidate for John McCain. Don’t be fooled. Charles Manson has a better chance of going to heaven than Bob Barr has of being president.”

Timely quotes?

“ ‘When the people find that they can vote themselves money, that will herald the end of the republic.’ ‘They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither safety nor liberty.’ — Benjamin Franklin”
