TIFTON — A woman reported missing by the Tift County Sheriff’s Office late Wednesday was found dead early Thursday morning.

Kay Thornhill Sumner disappeared Wednesday, prompting deputies to release her photo and description, as well as a description of her vehicle, to local media.

Public Information Officer David Haire said Thursday that Sumner’s body had been recovered and that “there was no current law enforcement activity” in the case. Foul play is not suspected.
