Louis Wayne Powell
WRAY — Louis Wayne Powell, 79, of Wray, died Saturday, Oct. 27, 2000 at his home.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at Paulk Funeral Home in Ocilla with burial following at Satilla Cemetery in Irwin County. The Rev. Dan Johnson will officiate.
Visitation will be held tonight from 7-9 at Paulk Funeral Home in Ocilla.
Born Dec. 20, 1921 in Alachua County, Fla., Powell was the son Louis Hampton Powell and Mary Lucretia Chesser Powell, both deceased. He was a heavy equipment mechanic with Wiley N. Jackson Construction in Jacksonville, Fla. He was a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Jacksonville. He had lived in Wray since May 1993 after moving from Fort McCoy, Fla. He was a member of the North Marion Lions Club in Lowell, Fla.
He is survived by his wife, Hazel S. Powell of Wray; two sons, Larry Powell of Fitzgerald and Ricky Powell of Ocilla; one brother, J.D. “Ron” Powell of St. Augustine, Fla.; two sisters, Abby Silcox of Green Cove Springs, Fla. and Ellen Moody of Rockwell, N.C.; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Tony Martin
LENOX — Ernest Tyrone “Tony” Martin, 62, of Lenox, died Friday, Oct. 26, 2001 in Tift County in an auto accident.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Lakeview Baptist Church with Dr. Steve Pickern and the Rev. Joe Crumbley officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Monday evening from 7-9 at Boone-Lipsey Funeral Home on Highway 41 South in Adel.
Born Sept. 5, 1939 in Unadilla, he was the son of Ernest Lee Martin and Lyndall Mashburn Martin, both deceased. He lived most of his life in Cook County and was a retired electrician with Weyerhauser in Adel. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lola Yvonne Wetherington Martin and one sister, Latralle White. He is survived by one nephew, Mark White of Macon; one niece, Jody Bender of Macon; and several great nieces and nephews.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by Boone-Lipsey Funeral Home in Adel.
Terry Pharr, Jr., 24, of Omega, died Saturday, Oct. 27, 2001 at Tift Regional Medical Center. Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Albritton-Beaumont Funeral Home.
Ona Mae Rowe McClellan died Saturday, Oct. 27, 2001, in Waycross. Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
