Robert ‘Bob’ Weldon
SPRINGFIELD, Fla. — Robert “Bob” Martin Weldon, 74, of Springfield, Fla., died Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2005, at his home. A funeral mass is scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Springfield, Fla. Father Peter Zalewski and Father Ben Klucinec will officiate.
Burial will follow at Garden of Memories. The family will receive friends at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, from 2 to 4 p.m. and again 6 to 8 p.m. Friday. A Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Friday.
Mr. Weldon was born in Tifton and had lived in Bay County since 1968.
He was retired from the U.S. Air Force as a Senior Master Sergeant after 21 years of service. He worked as a realtor after his retirement and then worked with the Florida Unemployment Service before retiring in 1993.
Mr. Weldon was a member and Eucharistic Minister at St. Dominic Catholic Church. He was also affiliated with the North Bay Creek Indian Clan.
Mr. Weldon is survived by his wife of 54 years, Hannah Weldon of Springfield; a son and daughter-in-law, Rick and Monika of Weston, W.Va.; a daughter and son-in-law, Marty and Stephen McDavid of Ocean Springs, Miss.; two sisters, Carolyn Adcock and her husband Robert of Suwannee, Fla. and Sara Frances Cravey of Tifton; seven grandchildren, Jeffrey Weldon, Christopher Weldon, Heather Weldon, Jennifer McDavid, Stephanie McDavid and Lauren McDavid.
Contributions may be made in Mr. Weldon’s name to Covenant Hospice, 107 W. 19th St., Panama City, FL 32405. Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 2403 Harrison Ave., Panama City, FL 32405, is in charge of arrangements.
William Larry Evans
TY TY — William Larry Evans, 57, of Ty Ty, died Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2005, at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at First Baptist Church of Ty Ty. The Rev. Danny Jones will officiate. Burial will follow in the church’s cemetery.
Ronald Etheridge, Jerry Tillman, Gary Weathers, Irvin Dorminey, Tommy Wynn and Julius Brown will serve as pallbearers. United Parcel Service employees and retirees will serve as honorary pallbearers.
The body will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to the service. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Albritton-Beaumont Funeral Directors, Tiftarea Chapel.
Born Jan. 8, 1948, in Tift County, Mr. Evans was the son of Howard and Delma Lee Evans, both deceased. He drove for UPS for 32 years and was a member of First Baptist Church of Ty Ty. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and had lived in Ty Ty most of his life..
Mr. Evans was a good husband, daddy and granddaddy. He especially loved and enjoyed raising his grandchildren. He also enjoyed fishing; his handle at UPS was “Fishing Rod.”
Mr. Evans is survived by his wife, Ann Collins Evans; two sons, Scott Evans of Tifton and Shannon Evans of Augusta; a brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Gerlene Evans of Fayetteville; and four grandchildren, Jamie Evans, Ashlie Evans, Codie Evans and Blake Evans.
Albritton-Beaumont Funeral Directors, Tiftarea Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
