Zoraida C. Ruiz
OMEGA — Zoraida C. Ruiz, 87, of Omega, died Thursday, Jan. 16, 2003, at Tift Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at First Presbyterian Church. Dr. David Uhl will officiate. Burial will follow at Omega Cemetery in Omega. Pallbearers will include Ralph Leonard, Joe Sheridan, Filiberto Hernandez, Antonio Cervantes, Andrew Mendieta and Frank Sides.
The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. tonight at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Born May 15, 1915, in San Sebastian, Puerto Rico, Mrs. Ruiz was the daughter of Anacleto Cardona Garcia and Manuela Cardona Velvelez del Rosanio, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Nicholas Ruiz, who died in 1999; and two brothers, George Cardona and Samuel Cardona.
Mrs. Ruiz was a retired retail shop owner and attended Iglesia Hispana de Omega, Ministry of Mell Baptist Association. She had been a resident of Omega since 1994, and previously resided in Brooklyn, N.Y., and Port Monmouth, N.J.
Mrs. Ruiz was also a Girl Scout volunteer.
She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Dalma R. and Lamar Dickens of Omega; one sister, Claudia Rosa of West Palm Beach, Fla.; two grandsons, David Scott Eveland and Robert Nicholas Eveland, both of Reno, Nev.; one step-grandson, Brad Dickens of Bakersfield, Calif.; two step great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and two special friends, Beverly and Wood White of Port Monmouth, N.J.

Tommy C. Hutto
SYCAMORE — Tommy C. Hutto, 74, of Sycamore, died Friday, Jan. 17, 2003, at Tift Regional Medical Center following a sudden illness.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Ashburn First Baptist Church with burial to follow in Arabi Cemetery in Arabi.
Visitation will be held from 7-9 p.m. tonight at Perry Funeral Chapel in Ashburn.
Born in Crawford County, Mr. Hutto was the son of the late William Henry and Melissa Corene Yawn Hutto. He had resided in Ashburn for many years and was a member of the Penla Baptist Church in Crisp County. Mr. Hutto was the owner and operator of Hutto’s Shoppe and Wrecker Service.
He is survived by his wife, Jannie Timmons Hutto of Ashburn; one son, Durwood Hutto of Cordele; six daughters, Orene Cameron, Janice Brown, Joyce Webb, all of Sycamore, Cindy Shiver of Cordele, Merle Adams of Fitzgerald and Tommie Jean Stone of Tifton; three brothers, James Hutto of Poulan, Alton Hutto of Duncan, Okla. and Bill Hutto of Enterprise, Ala.; two sisters, Annie Merle Young and Wenelle Lilly, both of Albany; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Hutto was preceded in death by two sons, Carlos Hutto and Danny Hutto.
Perry Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Linda Tucker Greer
OCILLA — Linda Tucker Greer, 48, of Ocilla, died Thursday, Jan. 16, 2003, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today at Bethany Missionary Baptist Church in Irwin County with the Rev. Jack Perrin and the Rev. Donnie Pridgen officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Born Sept. 2, 1954 in Irwin County, Mrs. Greer was the daughter of the late Elisba Tucker and Beaulah Mae Cox Tucker. She was a 1972 graduate of Irwin County High School and received her Associate Degree from ABAC in Tifton. Mrs. Greer was a para-professional with the Tift County Board of Education and was a member of the Bethany Missionary Baptist Church and the church Ladies Circle.
Survivors include her husband, John T. Greer of Ocilla; one son, Perry Greer of Ocilla; two step-daughters, Holly Greer Gwaltney of Bamberg, S.C. and Bonny Greer Sanders of St. Augustine, Fla.; one stepson, John T. Greer, Jr. of Atlanta; one brother, Marston Tucker of Wray; eight grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Greer was preceded in death by two brothers, Gene Tucker and Raiford Tucker.

John W. Walker
TY TY — John W. Walker, 83, of Ty Ty, died Friday, Jan. 17, 2003, at Ti
ft Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church of Ty Ty with the Rev. Danny Jones officiating. Burial will follow at the First Baptist Church of Ty Ty Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mitchell Cook, Jason Cook, Reggie Cook, Joe Walker, Chad Walker, Heath Barry, Grant Barry, Frank Baker, Jamie Harris, Mick Helms and Allan Parrish. Honorary pallbearers will be the Deacons of the First Baptist Church of Ty Ty.
Visitation will be held tonight from 7-9 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Born June 25, 1919 in Worth County, Mr. Walker was the son of Charles A. Walker and Lula Mae Devane Walker, both deceased. He was a farmer and a member of the First Baptist Church of Ty Ty.
Survivors include his wife, Edwina Walker; three sons and daughters-in-law, George and Pat Walker, Larry and Sharon Walker and Gary and Rhonda Walker, all of Ty Ty; two daughters and sons-in-law, Gail and Jimmy Cook of Ty Ty and Kathy and Jerry Baker of Chula; one sister, Eva Ruth of Lakeland, Fla.; 15 grandchildren, Stephanie Clements, Mitchell Cook, Jason Cook, Reggie Cook, Joe Walker, Chad Walker, Nikki Weaver, Stauna Chambless, Amy Tinsley, Heath Barry, Grant Barry, Frank Baker, Kara Baker, Jamie Harris and Mick Helms; and eight great-grandchildren.
Mr. Walker was preceded in death by two sisters.
