Wayne T. Hutchinson
HILTON HEAD, S.C. — Wayne T. Hutchinson, 62, originally of Tifton but living in Hilton Head, S.C., died Thursday, Jan. 27, 2005, at Hilton Head Regional Medical Center.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Zion Hope Baptist Church. The Rev. Eddie Allen will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Albritton-Beaumont Funeral Directors Tiftarea Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Zion Hope Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, Tifton, Ga.; Patrick’s and Teresa Elementary School , 378 S. Indiana, Kankakee, IL 60901 or Bishop McNamara High School, 500 West Brookmont Blvd., Kankakee, IL 60901.
Mike Cassidy, Patrick Cassidy, David Blackstock, Joe Blackstock Jr., Neal Barrett, Thomas Dennison, Ronald Sumner and Billy C. Hutchinson will serve as pallbearers. Ricky Hobby, Johnny Johnson and Jim Anderson will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Born in Tifton, Hutchinson was the son of Will H. and Montese Durden Hutchinson, Sr., both deceased.
A Vietnam veteran of the U.S. Navy, Hutchinson served aboard the U.S.S. Ticonderoga. A graduate of Darton College, Hutchinson graduated from the General Hospital School of Anesthesia in Kansas City, M.O., in 1975. He continued his education at Vanderbilt University. Hutchinson served as the Chief Epiduralist in Labor and Delivery at St. Mary’s Hospital in Kankakee, Ill., for 16 years.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Cassidy Hutchinson; two daughters, Mackenzie Hutchinson of Charleston, S.C.; and AnnaKate Hutchinson of Florence, S.C.; a brother Will H. Hutchinson of Tifton; and a sister, Sue H. Blackstock of Augusta.

Donald H. ‘Pop’ Busbin
IRWIN COUNTY — Donald H. “Pop” Busbin, 76, of Irwin County, died Saturday, Jan. 29, 2005, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Riverbend Baptist Church, Irwin County, with the Rev. Jim Britt officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 7 to 9 tonight at Paulk Funeral Home, Ocilla.
Mr. Busbin was born April 23, 1928, in Irwin County, to the late Henry Herring and Tyus Etta “Mama B” Veal Busbin. He had lived in Irwin County most of his life.
Mr. Busbin was a farmer and a house painter. A member of Macedonia Baptist Church in Irwin County, he had served in the Georgia Army National Guard.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Jimmy Goulden of Ashburn and Judi and Jim Britt of Mountain City; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Randall and Jo Busbin and Andy Busbin, all of Ocilla; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Joe Busbin and Franklin Busbin, both of the Waterloo community, Irwin County; five sisters, Clara Jordan of Tampa, Fla., Bernice Duckworth and Jewell Robinson, both of Warner Robins, and Norma Baker and Jackie Hampton, both of Waterloo.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Sue Wisner Busbin; three brothers and five sisters.

Ira C. ‘Chubby’ Merritt
TIFTON — Ira C. “Chubby” Merritt, 48, of Tifton, died Friday, Jan. 28, 2005, at his residence.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Chapel of Albritton-Beaumont Funeral Directors. The Rev. T. Manuel Johnson will officiate. Burial will follow at Zion Hope Baptist Church.
David Yancey, Gordon Crosby, W. A. Hines, Les Pate, Keith Pate, Jeffery Bass, Russ Dillard and Clint Crosby will serve as pallbearers.
Quinn O’Quinn, Michael Merritt, Dustin Merritt and Chad O’Neal will serve as honorary pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at the funeral home. Flowers will be accepted or donations can be made to the Tift Regional Medical Center Oncology Department.
Born Dec. 12, 1956, in Tifton, he was the son of the late James Carroll Merritt and Betty Maxine O’Quinn Merritt who still currently lives in Tifton.
A retired Dye House Manager from Tifton Textiles, Merritt was also employed with Dillard Construction. A member of the First Church of the Nazarene, he enjoyed yardwork and helping others. He loved his family.
He is survived by his wife, Teressa Merritt of Tifton; two sons, James Clayton Merritt and Christopher Scott Merritt, both of Tifton; parents-in-law, Earl and Jean Bass of Newnan; brother, Danny Merritt of Tifton; three sisters, Marguerite Merritt and Debbie O’Neal, both of Tifton; and Susan Merritt of Sparks; a sister-in-law, Sharon Merritt of Tifton; along with several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
