J.C. Coney
TIFTON — J.C. Coney, 87, of Tifton, died Thursday, Oct. 13, 2005, at the V.A. Medical Center in Augusta.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church. Elder Clerance Rich Jr. will officiate. Burial will follow at Oakridge Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Southview Mortuary Chapel.
Mr. Coney is survived by his wife, Ollie Jewel Coney; a son, Daniel Coney; five daughters, Rose Stanley, Jeannette Crews, Ida Daniel, Patricia Coney and Barbara Pitts; a brother, Ellis Coney; 21 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and six great-great grandchildren.
Southview Mortuary, Inc., is in charge of arrangements.
Buford Waddell
AMERICUS — Buford Waddell, 66, of Americus, died Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2005, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. today from Heritage Church of God. The Rev. Bud Womack, the Rev. Frank Thompson and the Rev. Perry Lamey will officiate. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery.
Asked to serve as active pallbearers are Chris Hudson, Bennie Cook, Don Manns, Donnie Collins, Lynn Newton and Wesley Evans. Sons of Confederate Veterans will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Mr. Waddell was a native of Marks, Miss., and was born the son of the late Rev. C.A. Waddell and his mother, who survives him, Frances Gilmore Waddell. He was also preceded in death by a sister who died at birth, Frances Waddell.
Mr. Waddell was self-employed and owner/operator of Waddell Pest Control in Americus for 33 years. He was a member of Heritage Church of God and Sons of Confederate Veterans, Alexander H. Stephens Camp 78.
Mr. Waddell is survived by his wife, Mary McCrary Waddell of Americus; a daughter and son-in-law, Angela Waddell Goodin and Gregg of Butler; the late Jane Waddell Hardester and son-in-law Mike Hardester of Americus; two sons and daughters-in-law, John Waddell and Susie of Tifton and Mark Waddell and Crystal of Americus; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Thelma Lamey and Perry of Albany, Mildred Franklin and Gene of Lineville, Ala., Essie Kilgore and James of Sylvester and Rebecca Oliver and Crawford of Camilla; a brother, Charles Ray Waddell of Albany; eight grandchildren, Melissa and Chris Scott of Bonaire, SPC Chris Goodin on active duty in Iraq, Michael Hardester Jr., Jenny Hardester and Gage Waddell, all of Americus, Travis Goodin of Butler and Isabella and Mallory Jane Waddell of Tifton; a number of nieces and nephews; and special friends of the family, Laura Gregg, Lindsey Barrow and Holly Montgomery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Heritage Church of God, P.O. Box 428, Americus, Ga. 31719.

Earl Dean Hayes
LENOX — Earl Dean Hayes, 65, of Lenox, died Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2005, at his residence. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. today in Lenox Cemetery. Family members will be the speakers and pallbearers.
Mr. Hayes was born on May 26, 1940, in Brooks County. He was the son of Willie Henry Hayes and Edna Graddy Hayes, both deceased. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Paula Jane Hayes, who died in 1985, and three brothers.
Mr. Hayes was a retired technician with Shaw Industries.
He is survived by his wife, Helen Willis Hayes of Lenox; two sons and daughters-in-law, Earl Dean and Florence Hayes Jr. of Cook County and Henry Lee “Hank” and Jessica Hayes of Tift County; a daughter, Wanda Hayes of Tift County; two sisters, Annie Jean Martin of Adel and Betty Sue Wade of Macon; four grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

The Rev. Johnny Hendley
NASHVILLE — The Rev. Johnny Hendley, 70, of Nashville, died Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2005, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Riverside Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery.
Visitation will be held after 4 p.m. today at Lovein Funeral Home, with the family receiving friends from 7 to 9 tonight.
The Rev. Hendley was born on March 25, 1935, in Berrien County. He was the son of Willie Hendley and Lottie Roberts, both deceased. He was also preceded in death by a grandson, Gabe Hendley, who died Aug. 15, 2004.
He was a retired grocer, farmer and Baptist minister and was also retired from the wood shop at Chaparral Boats. He was a member of Riverside Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Vivian Nix Hendley of Nashville; a daughter, Glenda Roland of Douglas; two sons, Johnny Wade Hendley of Nashville and Gregory Bryant Hendley of Adel; six sisters, Elzie Justiss of Savannah, Eula Evans of Mayville, Ark., Elnita Swain of Tifton, Doris Griner of Nashville, Jean Faulkner of Nashville and Carolyn Barber of Hahira; two brothers, Dempsey Hendley of Marietta and Beuman Hendley of Vidalia; and three grandchildren.

Jimmy G. Hewett Sr.
FORT WORTH, TEXAS — Jimmy G. Hewett Sr., 64, of Fort Worth, formerly of Valdosta, died Monday, Oct. 14, 2005, in the John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Wilkes Cemetery in Cook County
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to noon Friday at Music Funeral Home.
Mr. Hewett was born on March 28, 1941, in Adel, to the late June and Emma Hewett. He worked as a printer and served in the U.S. armed forces. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Junior Hewett and S.A. Hewett, and three sisters, Mary Dickerson, Frances Chauncey and Clara Hewett.
Survivors include his wife, Geri Hewett; three sons, Jay Hartsaw, Tony Hartsaw and Jimmy Hewett Jr.; a daughter, Kelly Thetford; eight grandchildren, Derian Hewett, Nikki Hewett, Jake Garrison, Quade Thetfort, John Hartsaw Jr., April Hartsaw, J.R. Hammons and Brandi Hartsaw; a brother, Billy Hewett of Blackshear; and two sisters, Elizabeth Boykin of Hahira and Eleanor Martin of Ty Ty.
