Dumb Rants

“Reply to ‘Pocketing Profit’ rant in Tuesday’s Gazette: Continuing your venom against President Bush just makes us who support him sure that we are right. You rant like a man who is full of hate, which is evident among other Bush-bashers. …Ease up before you blow a gasket.”

An abomination?

“I was seeing in the paper and I heard advertised on the radio about the Hispanic Health Fair that they had in Tifton this past Saturday. I think that is just an abomination. We have old people, my mother included, that can’t afford to buy her medicine. My father served his country in the military. Now we can help these people? We can do all that free for them and my mother can’t get her medicine? Now there is something wrong with this picture. People, we need to do something about this.”

Special then and now

“This is in reply to the person who asked are teachers all of a sudden special now. It amazes me how anyone can make such a remark about the people who are entrusted with our most precious resource day in and day out. Besides doing the thankless job of trying to educate our kids… They are faced with the challenge of trying to teach them morals and values that so many of them are missing out on at home. Are teachers all of a sudden special now? No, indeed. They have ALWAYS been special.”

Lock them up

“I would like to rant and rave about the district attorney and the judicial system. I had a truck stolen over a year ago and I have called and called and called and this guy is still out on the streets. I worked hard for my money to pay for my truck and I would just like to know what is going on with the judicial system in Tift County. “

Enduring monument

“I would like to make a comment about Wednesday’s paper, July 20, where Barrow County had to remove their Ten Commandments. I would like to make a comment about that. It is really regrettable for the monuments that celebrate righteousness and righteousness exalts in nations. But there is one enduring monument to righteousness that cannot be removed, the truth of Christ written on human hearts by the spirit of God. II Corinthians 3:3.”

Keep it up, coach

“I would just like to leave a message for the new head football coach, Coach Walls. I would just like to say I enjoyed his speech at the beginning of getting the football season ready and I would just like to say that so far, he has something good and is doing a good job with the kids and I just hope he doesn’t wind up doing like the other coaches have done in the past and cater to the kids who have money in the family and that everyone has the chance to do their jobs and let the parents leave the coach alone.”

Football prayers

“I would just like to call and leave a special prayer message for all of the football players and coaches that will be going to Pickett Lake next week near Mayo, Fla., for the football camp. I would just like to ask all of the parents in Tift County and the fans who support our kids to pray that they have a safe trip to Florida and a safe trip back from the football camp. These days, prayer is needed everywhere but especially in the school system.”
