Bush not an idiot
“I’d like to applaud the article, ‘Stand by George.’ It’s really irritating to watch the media paint such an overexaggerated picture of Bush’s competence. Please, if you decide to uphold an opinion of someone, take some time to look into a few things. I promise you, this man didn’t become the leader of our nation by being an idiot.”
High expectations
“If Mr. Park is so outstanding that he can demand all of these concessions that the county commissioners made, I’m sure we can look forward to a county management which results in lower taxes and improved services to the county citizens.”
Big Brother watching
“After seeing what I did today, where the police go and raid the schools with drawn guns, it’s not going to be but a matter of months before we’re going to be strip-searched before we can go into Harvey’s, Winn Dixie or Wal-Mart. When is Big Brother going to get out of our business and let us go on with life? This is totally ludicrous. I never in my years thought I would see such a phenomena happen in the United States of America. Thank you, Washington.”
Need to thank God
“I heard a report this evening on the cotton crop and what a bountiful crop that we’re going to have this year. I’m really grateful for that. Agribusiness is booming here in Georgia. But you know, what we really need to do is thank God in heaven for the weather and the conditions that have allowed these farmers to grow that. Before Washington steps in and takes full responsibility for the economy, thank God first.”
A good man
“Congratulations, Ed Moore. Your friends and neighbors are thrilled that you are the new director from Tift County on the Irwin EMC Board of Directors. We have a representative of unequal military, agricultural, civic and business background to represent us. You are a tremendous relief.”
A kind doctor
“This is a Rave for Dr. Robert Holme at Tifton Ophthalmology for the excellent care he provided for my mother with her recent cataract surgery. He was especially kind to her and to my family, and we certainly appreciate that and wish to tell him thank you.”
Go Tech go
“This is to the Tech fan that was so excited about being on the front page of the Tifton Gazette sports page two days during the off week for the Bulldogs. I guess now he’s satisfied and totally celebrating Duke’s first ACC victory since 1999. Way to go, Jackets.”
Great servants
“This is a Rave for Dr. Putman. It’s very rare that you find a doctor that has time to sit down and listen to you and really show concern. We’re going to miss him when he leaves Tifton. And also Tim, the school crossing at Matt Wilson, always has a smile on his face and something kind to say. Just wanted to let people know that there are two wonderful people in Tift County.”
Apples and oranges
“I’m calling about the commissioners backing Park, and Harriette Rowe said that his salary is justified because he’s leaving a salary bigger than what they’re giving him. Did she stop and think that he’s coming from Atlanta? That’s why his salary is bigger. His salary would be bigger in Atlanta than coming to Tifton. Big difference there.”
