Turn them on
“I have a question for the law enforcement officers. Aren’t you held to the same driving laws as the rest of us citizens are? Tuesday night, it had been raining, the roads were wet, and this police officer was traveling in front of me going out Seventh or 82 East. He suddenly turned without warning, not giving a turn signal, onto 41 South, or Main Street, whatever. It took me by surprise. He just turned, no reason, no sirens, no nothing, just turned, didn’t give a turn signal, and I thought if that had been me in front of him making a sudden turn without a signal I would have been pulled over and given a ticket. This is not the first time I’ve seen officers that fail to give turning signals and I just think that they should be held to the same laws as we are, even if they have their sirens on and lights flashing. If they’re going to make a turn, they should have their turning signals on.”
Look in the mirror
“I hope that when Buddy Bryan was talking about micro-managing the county he was looking in the mirror at himself.”
Wonderful day
“A big thank you to the Georgia Agrirama in Tifton for such a wonderful day on the Fourth of July, and for the fireworks, and also to each and every one of the workers that were there. Everyone was so helpful. But I would like to ask, please put ramps for the disabled so they can carry their wheelchairs up or their little scooters. That would be such a good improvement for all. Thank you very much, and keep up the good work.”
Better hours
“The new animal shelter needs to accomodate families. These families with children are the most likely adoptive group for the animals at your shelter. Moms, dads and the kids should all be able to go to our beautiful new shelter together to pick out the family’s newest member. Please, please reconsider closing on say, a midweek Wednesday, and staying open all day 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday. Adoption is a family affair, and our new shelter needs to address this.”
Great excitement
“I think the fireworks were great at the Agrirama and it’s something our kids look forward to every year. They really do a great job with it and I think we underestimate how much we appreciate it. Great job.”
Check’s in the mail
“I want to know when the tax rebate from the IRS is coming. George Bush said he wanted it back in time for families to buy back-to-school clothes. I don’t know if George knows Tift County’s schedule, but we start back real early. We need to get that check soon.”
