Print their names

“I think the Tifton Gazette ought to publish at least once a month the list of senators who voted to change our state flag. That way, it will be a reminder of which ones to vote out of office come election time.”

Explain that

“For people to say that the Pepsi 400 that took place on July 7 in Daytona was rigged goes to show you what kind of narrow, weak-minded individuals we have living in this community. And if it’s rigged as you people say it is, why is Dale Earnhardt, Tony Roper and Adam Petty and others who have died, why are they lying in the cemetery? I would like for y’all to really give me an answer to that, if you have got one.”

No fixing

“To the individual who wrote in Thursday’s paper about the race being fixed, I was there and that’s about as real as it gets. The moves Junior made during the race were vintage Earnhardt. He’s the reason all those Earnhardt Sr. fans still come to the races. And by the way, you’re a real rocket scientist if it took you two blown cars to realize wrestling’s fake. Go Junior and Earnhardt forever.”

Just full of it

“Bill Shipp’s article about the Georgia flag issue with the Republicans is a load of bull. He knows just as well that if the Democrats had lost their little thing, if the liberals had lost instead of won, they’d be hollering about the flag. He’s full of it.”

Change it back

“I see where the majority of the Georgia people are unhappy with the new flag. I think it’s a rag myself. I don’t know why we should spend a lot of money just because a few activists want a change because they haven’t got enough sense to realize that that’s a part of history and not what they think it is. They’re just using that to stir up trouble among their people and get votes. Why don’t we just go back to the flag that we had before? That way I won’t have to take the one down I’ve already got, which I’m not going to take down anyway. I’ve got the old flag on my flag pole and I’m going to keep it there. So why don’t we just keep the old flag and forget about all these rabblerousers that are running their mouths and Roy Barnes and all the other trash that we’ve got running this state?”

Investigate prices

“It’s a shame that the Tifton merchants that sell gasoline are still gouging us. We appreciate the reduction in price, but it’s a shame that when you can travel in surrounding areas in South Georgia you can buy gasoline for $1.09, when in Tifton it’s $1.24 to $1.34. We need to write our congressmen and let them know that they need to investigate these merchants here for price gouging in this oil situation.”

Inform yourselves

“This is in response to the person who called in about the cleanup in Lenox. I just want you to know that Mayor Robinson and the council have taken the lead in making Lenox a better place to live and raise our kids. Obviously, you do not attend the council meetings, or you would know that no grant monies go for people to clean up their mess or to remove old, unsafe, dilapidated buildings. You obviously are not well-informed.”

Somthing’s up

“To the person about the police being on the south side of town, I live on the north side of town. I see the law over here too. But I guarantee that you’re going on the south side of town to do something you’re not supposed to be doing, and that’s why there’s so many police over there. It’s because they know there’s a drug problem on the south side of town.”

Can’t see it

“Hold on to your old telephone directory. You will need them to see the new ones, unless you have a good magnifying glass.”

Check your facts

“To the person who left the message that the citizens can vote out the Supreme Court, those are not elected officials. They are appointed by the president for life terms. You need to check your facts.”
