TIFTON — A local restaurant was robbed at gunpoint Tuesday night.
Shoney’s restaurant was robbed at about 11:40 p.m. Tuesday, according to a Tift County Sheriff’s Office report. Terry Lee Cochran of Adel, an employee of the restaurant, said that two black men armed with guns came into the business and robbed it.
Sheriff’s Office officials declined to comment on the robbery, other than saying that there is an active, ongoing investigation. It is unclear what was stolen from the restaurant.
A woman, Heather Lee Siniard, 20, of Tifton, was arrested by Sheriff’s deputies Thursday and charged with armed robbery. However, when asked if Siniard was believed to be involved in the Shoney’s robbery, authorities said, “No comment.”
