Hattie Chambless McBrayer
BONIFAY, Fla. — Hattie Chambless McBrayer, 73, of Bonifay, formerly of Tifton, died Friday, Dec. 23, 2005, at Bonifay Nursing Home.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the chapel of Albritton-Beaumont Funeral Directors, with the Rev. Charles Walker officiating. Burial will follow at Pineview Holiness Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 9 until 11 a.m. Monday before the service.
Mrs. McBrayer was born Oct. 15, 1932, in Cleburne County, Ala., to Oscar Chambless and Lonnie Beasley Chambless, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Clarence R. McBrayer, who died in 1991.
Mrs. McBrayer had lived in Bonifay for four years. She was a homemaker and had been a clerk for G.C. Murphy’s in Tifton. She was a member of the First Assembly of God in Tifton.
Mrs. McBrayer is survived by three daughters and three sons-in-law, Laverne and Charles Walker of Nashville, Tenn., Kay and Tommy Gibbs of Tifton and Paula and Jeff Carnley of Bonifay.; two brothers, George Chambless of Tifton and Carlton Chambless of Palatka, Fla.; two sisters, Sarah Welch of Lenox and Sue Martin of Tifton; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Annell Bradford
NASHVILLE — Annell Bradford, 66, of Nashville, died Thursday, Dec. 22, 2005, at her residence.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today at the chapel of Lovein Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Flat Creek Cemetery. The Rev. Mickey Lindsey will officiate.
Mrs. Bradford was born on July 4, 1939, in Berrien County. She was the daughter of Robert Lee Whitley and Doris Shaw, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Linda Taylor. She was a homemaker
Mrs. Bradford is survived by her husband, Gene Bradford of Nashville; two daughters, Barbara Jean Brown and Theresa Hines, both of Nashville; two sisters, Ruby Gray of Lakeland and Jo Ann Whitley of Quitman; nine brothers, Bud Whitley, Carroll Whitley, Terrell Whitley, Waymon Whitley, Don Whitley and Earl Whitley, all of Alapaha, Ronald Whitley of Quitman, Clifton Whitley of Tifton and Jerry Whitley of Enigma; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Iral Bond
Willis Butler
SYLVESTER — Iral Bond Willis Butler, 84, of Sylvester, formerly of Tifton, died Thursday, Dec. 22, 2005, at Tift Regional Medical Center following a brief illness.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. today at Banks Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Jeff Barker will officiate. Burial will follow at Oakridge Cemetery.
Mrs. Butler was born on Jan. 12, 1921, in Sacramento County, Calif. She was the daughter of Edward Leon Bond Sr. and Bertha Iral Hensley Bond, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Edward Leon Bond Jr, and a sister, Judith Carole Bond Clyatt.
Mrs. Butler was a retired payroll clerk for J.P. Stevens Company for more than 25 years. She was descended from the early pioneers settling in Central Valley, Calif., a member of the Elk Grove, Calif., Historical Society, an avid reader and genealogical researcher. She was past president of the VFW Auxiliary Post in Tifton and the American Legion Auxiliary.
Mrs. Butler was a member of Gordy New Bethel Baptist Church. She was very active in the Tifton Unit of the American Cancer Society including the Relay for Life, Bosom Buddies and the Reach to Recovery Programs.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Linda Willis and Eddie N. Medders of Sylvester; a son and daughter-in-law, Lewis Eddie and Kitty Clark Willlis of Fitzgerald; grandchildren, Jon Medders, Robbie Wolfe and Chandra Crews; and five great-grandchildren.
Banks Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mary Lavinah
Haman Dukes
TIFTON — Mary Lavinah “Mary Lou” Haman Dukes, 95, of Tifton, formerly of Milton and Jacksonville, Fla., died Thursday, Dec. 22, 2005, at her residence.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Albritton-Beaumont Funeral Directors with the Rev. Jason Millsaps officiating. Burial will follow at Oakridge Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from noon until 2 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.
Grandsons and nephews will serve as pallbearers.
Mrs. Dukes was born Aug. 25, 1910, in Colquitt County to James Williamson Haman and Martha Jane Sutton Haman, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Walter Perry Dukes, and five sisters.
Mrs. Dukes had lived in Tifton four years and attended Northside Baptist Church. She had taught in the Irwinville, Brookfield and Manchester schools and retired from Duval County, Fla., public schools with 35 total years of service. She was one of the seven surviving Haman sisters who grew up around Worth and Irwin counties, four of whom became school teachers and three of whom were involved in businesses. She was a great-grandmother and enjoyed sewing and gardening.
Mrs. Dukes is survived by her daughter, Linda Dukes Gilbert of Tifton; two sisters, Willie Kate Haman Evans of Clermont, Fla., and Martha Jacque Haman Wynn of Tifton; her grandchildren, Will and Kelly Gilbert of Birmingham, Ala.; her great-grandchildren, Jennifer Jo and Steve Dodson of Fort Myers, Fla.; her great-great-grandchildren, Ryan and Hadon Gilbert of Birmingham, Ala.; and many nieces and nephews.
