Return Ranger

“If you have ever been to the Tifton Mall, you have seen the little lady with the cute puppy outside the front of the mall. Someone has stolen this puppy from this lady. This is so uncalled for. Please, whoever stole this puppy from this lady, please return it. Turn it back into the animal shelter or something. This did not have to happen. This lady is the sweetest lady. Nobody has to go through what this little lady is having to go through. Please return Ranger.”

Correct terms

“When a man kills a man, it’s called murder. When a chicken kills a chicken, it’s called cockfighting. When a man kills a deer, it’s called hunting.”

Well done

“This is a rave for the Tift County High School track team. Thank you, Coach Walls, for having the vision to see that this program was suffering. Tift County is full of talented athletes and by giving these athletes the tools to succeed, they will. Hiring and placing coaches in positions that generate winners is not an easy task. It takes someone with vision to get this job done. Well done, Coach Walls and Coach Simmons, for putting those kids out there and giving them the potential that they have.”

Make arrangements

“Ahhh, no. When the weather is bad and your child usually walks to school — go get him. You don’t want to leave work and we have had it by the end of the school day and our day STILL isn’t over…lesson plans, field trip plans, AYP meetings, Honors Day and Honors Night meetings, planning Field Day… .No, you come get him/her or make arrangements.”

Stand up

“Wasn’t it great for homecoming troops to be welcomed as they marched through Tifton by the support of well-wishers. The message also by Rep. Mac Collins helped the theme for support against terrorism. Some of us elders feel that the days of American ease and security in a day of plenty are drawing to a close. Let’s continue to stand against those who could care less with an attitude of so what as long as I’m getting what I want.”

All volunteers

“To the ‘2 to 4 working person,’ did you see the Atlantic Coastline Artist Guild last Saturday night when it was open for several hours? By the way, we are 100 percent volunteers.”

Support the team

“A rave for the Tift County baseball team and coaches. We need your support in our quest for the region and state championship. Come enjoy great baseball. …Friday, Lowndes away at 7.”

Can I get an amen

“Amen to Terry Kiser for his letter to the editor. Well said!!!”

We salute you

“Congratulations to Robert Collins and Willie Walker for a job well done while in the service of this city. The men and women of the Tifton Police Department salute you.”

A blessing

“Randy Weekly and the whole staff of CiCi’s pizza are courteous, helpful, and hard-working. Thank you for blessing Tifton by the way you run your business!”
