Something to do

“I would like to say that Tifton needs more activities for young people so they can go out and enjoy themselves in the evenings.”

It’s illegal

“The police department operated within its budget prior to the I-75 controversy and if properly managed, they can operate today without I-75 revenue. Using radar to generate revenue to operate is and has been illegal.”

Help me

“Apparently all these people who put the American flag on their cars and trucks don’t have enough respect for our beautiful country to secure their litter in the back of their pickup trucks after they eat lunch in construction sites and it blows out of the back and covers the sides of our roads. Some of the same people and other people are throwing trash out up and down our highways. So, instead of ranting on the phone, I’m going to get my plastic garbage bag and pick up everyone else’s trash. Please help me.”

Back to realistics

“I have tried to explain this before and I’m going to try one more time. If the interstate was only patrolled by the professionals, which is the Georgia State Patrol, and let the counties do their work in the county areas and let the city police departments do their work on the streets that are in the city and if they need to write a ticket in the city of Tifton that’s fine. But in today’s paper talking about the people having a wreck on 319, they had to wait on the police to get there because the police were on I-75 trying to catch speeders. Let go back to realistics. The interstate was provided as a major highway and major highways should be worked by the GSP. They are trained.”

How’s Chloe?

“Can anyone give us an update on Chloe? She is the young girl who had a tumor in her lower stomach area. We still pray for her… We would love to see her story in the Tifton Gazette. God bless you, Chloe.”

Great job

“We want to say thank you to Mrs. Carla Carlson, Mrs. Mary and Mrs. Lorie for doing such a great job with our children in the kindergarten class at Northside Baptist weekday. We appreciate everything you do. May God bless each of you and your family.”

Price list

“The police department already charges fees for accident and incident reports, criminal histories and for fingerprinting service. The price list is on the front window. Oh, don’t forget that I have also paid taxes for you to operate your for-profit business.”

Ready

“Friday night on I-75, seven patrol cars were operating radar and four patrol cars were patrolling the city. I’m ready to consolidate to have better police service.”

Little Ludowici?

“My rant is, when is Tifton going to get the nickname ‘Little Ludowici’ for its speed traps on I-75? It is a shame and a disgrace to go by on Sunday afternoon and see five city police officers out on the interstate catching our tourists who are coming through trying to get to Florida. We’ll have the nickname ‘Ludowici’ before the year is out.”
