Reginald R. Backey, 49, of Tifton, died Thursday, Jan. 18, 2007, at his residence. Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Southview Mortuary, Inc.

Willie Johnson Jr., 56, of Miami, Fla., died Sunday, Jan. 14, 2007, at Jackson North Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 20, at Strickland Temple Church of God in Christ. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 tonight at Southview Mortuary Chapel. Southview Mortuary Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Ima Jo Garrett Lang, 86, of Valdosta, died Wednesday, formerly of Omega, Jan. 17, 2007, at Valdosta Fellowship Home in Valdosta. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 21, at Omega Methodist Church in Omega. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 20, at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Mary Ann Nasworthy, 59, of Griffin, died Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2007. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 20, in the Chapel of Conner-Westbury Funeral Home in Griffin. Interment will follow at Big Creek Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Mystic. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at the funeral home. Survivors include her husband, George “Dub” Nasworthy of Griffin; sons Chris Reynolds of Griffin, Wesley Nasworthy of Griffin and John Nasworthy of Turin; parents Daniel Ray Bagby and Betty Joan Tattersall Bagby of Riverdale; brothers Danny Bagby of Hampton, David Bagby of Atlanta and Daryl Bagby of Riverdale; and a sister, Theres McMichen of Jonesboro. Conner-Westbury Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

T. T. Sheffield, 101, of Tifton, died Monday, Jan. 15, 2007, at Tift Health Care. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 20, at Springfield Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Tift Memorial Gardens. Survivors include a great-nephew Don Evans of Tifton. Taylor Family Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

Elder J. L. Rowan, 70, of Pavo, died Thursday, Jan. 18, 207, at Archbold Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 21, at Boone-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Longbridge Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 20, at Boone-Lipsey Funeral Home. Survivors include his wife, Carrie Gay Rowan of Pavo; his mother, Eula Beatrice Sapp Rowan of Pavo; a son, Walter Rowan of Tampa, Fla.; three daughters, Teresa Rowan Young of Pavo, Joan Lynn Jones of Folkston and Kathy Ellis of Cartersville; a brother, Buie Rowan of Doerun; and four sisters, Betty Joyce Gay of Albany, Carolyn Nichols of Valdosta, Shihrley Drew of Ray City and Peggy Taylor of Thomasville.
