Thanks, Jean
“I want to give a Rave to Jean who runs the recycling center right off of South Central. She keeps that place spotless and she’s always so nice and helpful whenever I go. Thank you.”
Rave for library
“I’d like to Rave about what a wonderful job the library is doing in its temporary quarters and especially what a wonderful, polite, helpful person Andrea Alford is. I want to send a big thank you to her for her nice attitude.”
Good food
“This is a Rave. We would like to thank the staff at Tifton Health Care for the above and beyond tender loving care they put into the food they serve. Thanks to all of you.”
Raise the funds
“A dog park? What’s wrong with the backyard? Don’t get me wrong, I do love animals, but a dog park built with my taxes would be outrageous. Local teenagers are raising funds for a skate park. Maybe you could start a fund raiser for a dog park. I would donate, as long as the PETA nuts stay away.”
Rave for teachers
“Speaking of teachers who make a difference, I have a couple of teachers I’d like to recognize, Mrs. Sandra Spearman and Mrs. Karen Sumner at G. O. Bailey. Thanks to them, my son has learned to love school. Also, congratulations, Mrs. Spearman, on your retirement. We’ll miss you.”
Come together
“I agree with ‘It’s up To Him.’ God is waiting for us to ask him for all this rain we need so badly, though it is terribly sad that we have to have a drought to come together to pray. Attention, everyone!!! It does not matter what your religious preference is. We need to gather together to pray for rain. Soon!! Is there a pastor from a local church who will arrange this. We need this now. God is waiting!!!!!!!!!”
Well deserved
“J. D. Lindsey has done so much for the veterans in the Tifton area for such a long time, he deserves a special recognition from the city and the county for his dedication to veterans.”
Thanks, TFD
“I’d like to Rave for our fire department, stations 1 and 2…it’s nice to know that our fire department is ready at all times. I’d like to give them a thank you for coming out Sunday.”
Money talks
“We need somewhere for the young boys and girls, the smaller kids, to go and enjoy themselves without being afraid of getting run over or bullied. If we were rich, it would be done immediately, but when a poor person wants something done, they can’t get anything done…”
Be careful
“I would like to urge older citizens to be cautious when exiting doctor’s offices… We were leaving our doctor’s office this week and observed two young men checking the adjacent parking lot for unlocked vehicles. I hate to think what might have happened if an older, infirm person had been coming into the parking lot at the wrong time. Predators look for the old and sick people. Those parking lots are ideal hunting grounds.”
