James Harvey Tillery

TIFTON — James Harvey Tillery, 80, of Tifton, died Sunday, May 27, 2007, at Tift Health Care.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals, with the Rev. Terrell Roberts officiating. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Cheatam Hill Memorial of Marietta.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. They will be at the residence of Ed Tillery, 143 Spring Hill Church Road, Tifton.

In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to the charity of your choice.

Born Dec. 25, 1926, in Florida, Mr. Tillery was the son of James Harley “Harle” Tillery and Nancy Poole Tillery, both deceased. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Agnes Tillery, and a son, Billy Tillery.

Mr. Tillery was a retired lineman with Cobb County Electric Co.

He is survived by a son and a daughter-in-law, Jimmy Leon and Carol Tillery of Marietta; one brother, Edgar “Ed” Tillery of Tifton; one sister, Ethelene “Teen” Butler of Blakely; one grandson, Jimmy Lynn Tillery and his wife, Jennifer, of Marietta; and one great-grandson, Jordon Lynn Tillery of Marietta.

Frankie Paulk Cantrell

TIFTON — Frankie Paulk Cantrell, 87, of Tifton, died Sunday, May 27, 2007, at Golden Living Center.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals, with Dr. W. Ches Smith III officiating. Burial will follow at Union Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Willacoochee.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.

Born Dec. 14, 1919, in Coffee County, Mrs. Cantrell was the daughter of Oscar Paulk and Mary Paulk Paulk, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Edward C. Cantell, who died in 1994.

She was a retired dental assistant and a member of First Baptist Church of Tifton.

Survivors include a son and a daughter-in-law, Chuck and Kathy Cantrell of Marietta; one daughter and one son-in-law, Sharon and Ed Arnold of Warner Robins; a brother-in-law and a sister-in-law, Loren and Mavis Cantrell of Sun City, Fla.; and four grandchildren, Joe Cantrell Arnold, Kala Arnold Fuller, Chad Cantrell and Beth Cantrell.

Billy Holcombe

TY TY — Billy Holcombe, 70, of Ty Ty, died Friday, May 25, 2007, at his residence.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at New Prospect Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery in Turner County, with the Rev. Wilbur Harris officiating.

The family will receive friends immediately following the services.

Born Jan. 31, 1937, in Turner County, Mr. Holcombe was the son of Martin Albert Holcombe and Claudie Lee Cox Holcombe, both deceased. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of Vietnam and was the owner of Holcombe Farms and Trucking. He was formerly employed with A.J. Jones Construction Co. as an office manager and was a member of New Prospect Freewill Baptist Church.

Mr. Holcombe is survived by three children, Wanda Moore Holcombe of Robbinsville, N.C., Lyndia Holcombe Sexton of Rock Hill, S.C., and James Holcombe Jr. of Mount Pleasant, S.C.; one brother, Fred Holcombe; and six grandchildren, Afton, Cassie and Coty Jenkins, Makayla Sexton and Kaitlyn and Matthew Holcombe.

Banks Funeral Home, Sylvester, is in charge of arrangements.
