Donnie Henderson
NASHVILLE — Donnie Henderson, 63, of Nashville, died Saturday, Aug. 18, 2007, at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. today at Nashville United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Dwight Bishop and the Rev. Larry Daughtry officiating. Burial will follow at 4:30 p.m. at Manchester City Cemetery.
Mr. Henderson was born June 2, 1944, in Jefferson County, Ala., the son of Elbert Gordon Henderson and Mae Weaver Henderson, both deceased. He grew up in Fitzgerald and Manchester and graduated from Manchester High School. He attended Clemson University and played football for three years and graduated from the University of Georgia and received his master’s of education from Cambridge College in Boston, Mass. He received numerous awards for coaching football and basketball in the state of Georgia. His life’s passion was teaching life’s principles to his kids through coaching. He was a member of Nashville United Methodist Church.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Henderson was preceded in death by two brothers, Elbert G. Henderson Jr. and Weaver Henderson. Mr. Henderson is survived by his wife, Cecilia Spradlin Henderson of Nashville; a son and daughter-in-law, Ryan and Alison Henderson of Dawson; a daughter and son-in-law, Julie and Jay Carroll of Nashville; granddaughter Lindsey Henderson; grandson Caden Carroll; sister and brother-in-law, Dr. Emmett and Sylvia Collins of Manchester; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Ira and Nancy Spradlin of Jonesboro; sister-in-law Sandra Bass of Perry, and numerous nieces, nephews and close friends.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
Lovein Funeral Home, Nashville, is in charge of arrangements.
Sara Maxine Cooper
ENIGMA — Sara Maxine Cooper, 84, of Enigma, formerly of Tifton, died Sunday, Aug. 19, 2007, at her residence.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals, with Pastor Chris Cooper and Pastor Clint Wood officiating. Interment will be at Ty Ty Baptist Church Cemetery.
Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mrs. Cooper was born Feb. 16, 1923, in Coweta County, and was the daughter of Charles Millard Camp and Ola “Mae” Long Camp, both deceased. She was a retired dietitian and was of the Baptist faith. She had lived in Tift County all her life.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Harvard Cooper Sr.; two sons, Frank Cooper and Donald Steve Cooper, and a sister, Janie Camp Cooper. She is survived by four sons and two daughters-in-law, Virgil H. Cooper Jr. of Macon, Danny R. Cooper of Centerville, James Edward and June Cooper of Perry, and Wayne and Connie Cooper of Warner Robins; four daughters and one son-in-law, Grace Freyer of Montgomery, Ala., Joyce Cooper of Tifton, Barbara and Carl Hancock of Tifton, and Doris Carter of Montgomery, Ala., a brother, Major Ellis Camp of Carrabelle, Fla., 21 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

Carolyn Templeton
LAKELAND — Carolyn Templeton, 65, of Lakeland, died Sunday, Aug. 19, 2007, at Langdale Hospice House.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Lovein Funeral Home.
Mrs. Templeton was born March 3, 1942, in Berrien County, the daughter of Joseph Asbury Bennett and Mittie Hodges Bennett, both deceased. She was a homemaker and a member of Lake Park Church of Christ.
Mrs. Templeton is survived by her husband, Fritz Templeton of Lakeland; three daughters, Mary (Lamar) Brown, Susan (Raymond) Devane, all of Lake Park, and Birdie (Jimmy) Stoddard of Clyattville; two sons, James (Melanie) Finney and Raymond (Melissa) Finney, both of Crawfordville; two sisters, Martha Sue Birdwell of Warner Robins and Mittie Ruth Lott of Donalsonville; two brothers, Earl Raymond Bennett of Crawfordville and Jack Bennett of Panama City, Fla.; 14 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren.
