Alma Naomi Stone Blanchett

BROOKFIELD — Alma Naomi Stone Blanchett, 95, of Brookfield died Thursday, Feb. 5, 2009, at Tift Health Care. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 8, in the chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. The Rev. Edward Mims, the Rev. Terrell Roberts and the Rev. Wayne Reese Blanchett will officiate with burial to follow at Oakridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 tonight at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Marion Padgett, Johnny White, Terrell Blanchett, Randy Blanchett, Roger Blanchett, Rex Blanchett, Joel Blanchett and Chad Blanchett will serve as pallbearers. Members of the Ladies Sunday School class from Brookfield Baptist Church will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Mrs. Blanchett was born on Aug. 22, 1913 in Guin, Ala., and was the daughter of Thomas S. Stone and Alma Cleo Akins Stone, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Ollie Blanchett; four brothers, Weldon Stone, Stacy Stone, J.B. Stone and Dewey Stone; and one sister, Ruth Cranford. She retired from Jackson Memorial Hospital as the Food Service Supervisor. She was a member of Brookfield Baptist Church.
Mrs. Blanchett is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Judy Blanchett of Tifton; one brother, Thomas C. Stone of Boyd, Texas; two grandchildren, Sherrie Blanchett of Ocilla and the Rev. Wayne Reese Blanchett of Windsor, N.C.; two step-granddaughters, Kara and Jason Tabb of Tallahassee, Fla. and Rebecca and Anton Heinlein of Dalton; four step-great grandchildren, Abigail Tabb, Colby Tabb, Allyson Heinlein and Mallory Heinlein; one brother-in-law, D. Cranford; four sisters-in-law, Ruby Blanchett, Virginia Stone, Mary Nell Stone and Kay Stone; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Brookfield Baptist Church.
