A third offender has been arrested and charged with felony murder, aggravated assault and conspiracy to commit armed robbery in the death of 38-year-old Shirley Ann King of Tifton, who was fatally shot in the early morning of April 16. He was also charged in connection with shooting and wounding 30-year-old Furnada Foster during the incident.
Tift County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Deandra Antwan Green, 27, 1821 Moore Highway, late Monday afternoon.
Sheriff Gary Vowell said Tuesday that Green was brought in for questioning at the office and, after the interview, he was given his rights and arrested. Vowell stated that information gathered from witnesses led to Green being brought in for questioning.
“I don’t anticipate any more arrests in this case,” Vowell said.
Sheriff’s deputies arrested Travis Brown, 28, on April 19, and 17-year-old Dominique Kendrick was served with felony warrants April 19 at a detention center. Kendrick had been arrested the previous day on a misdemeanor charge. They were also charged with felony murder, aggravated assault and conspiracy to commit armed robbery.
Sheriff’s deputies found King dead on the scene in the 100 block of Griffin Street shortly after 1 a.m. April 16.
Capt. Mike Walker had said that several people had gathered at that location and had begun firing multiple shots in the general direction of a structure on Griffin Street.
Both women were inside the structure when they were struck, Walker said. King’s wound was fatal. Foster was struck in the leg and was treated and released from a local hospital, Walker said.
