Police report for July 9

Crime briefs:
• A 16-year-old male reported Tuesday that while at a block party late Monday night on James Avenue and Doc Melton Sr. Drive, a black male he knows started shooting at him from inside a white Chevy Suburban.
• Officer Eddie Smith at the Tift County Sheriff’s Office reported Thursday that he responded to Old Ocilla Road just north of Mount Olive Church Road in reference to a broken-down vehicle and possible fire. He advised that he observed a truck pulling a mobile home stopped on the roadway. There was no fire. After an investigation, Smith determined that the mobile home was stolen. He reported that the owner recovered it. Adam Anderson Estes, 18, 23 Paradise Lake Road, was charged with theft by taking, driving with defective or insufficient tread depth on tires, a brake light and turn signal violation, missing or inoperative tail/tag lights, violating oversize load signs, driving without a valid tag or license plate, operating an unsafe vehicle, violating vehicle width limits and improper stopping/slowing in the lane of traffic.
• A man who lives in the 1800 block of Highway 82 East reported Friday that some unknown person(s) shot two vehicles in his yard with paintballs. No permanent damage was caused by the paintballs, the report states.
• A man reported Thursday that his rental property in the 300 block of Pearson Lane had been broken into and the offender(s) had attempted to steal the Frigidaire window cooling and heating unit. It received moderate damage to the inside face of the unit during the attempt. Entry was believed to have been made through a window. Damage is estimated at $700.
• A woman reported Thursday that a person unknown to her called and advised that she had won $1.6 million through Publisher’s Clearing House. She advised that the caller wanted her to send them a check for $600 to cover the insurance cost. The woman told police that she did not agree to send the caller any money.

Helen Coleman, 55, 1116 Fletcher Road, was charged Thursday with driving without a license.
Kristen Nicole Harper, 28, 1220 N. College Ave., Apt. 2, was charged Thursday with theft by shoplifting.

Christina Lynn Bass, 32, 114 Donaldson St., was charged Thursday with a probation violation.
Dillian Gage Coleman, 18, 1589 Ferry Lake Road, was charged Thursday with theft by taking.

Nigel Gerard Snow, 29, 2209 Prince Ave., was charged Thursday with a probation violation.

Twananthea Deon Smith, 33, 310 Old Omega Road, Lot 13, was charged Thursday with obstruction or hindering law enforcement without force, improper lane change, fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer, driving on the wrong side of the road, a safety restraint violation, failure to maintain lane, failure to stop at sign, reckless driving and driving without a license.

Jesus Lopez-Luis, 39, 113 Meders Drive, Omega, was charged Thursday with theft by shoplifting.
Clemente Manuel Ramirez, 33, 19205 Sr. 62 E., Apt. 24, Parrish, Fla., was charged Thursday with driving without a license.
