Your Opinion: Community member needs our help

My name is Chad Shadle and I am writing this letter in the hopes of obtaining some help and support from our community for a local resident in need. Recently, I was called to a residence by concerned neighbors and found the home to be in serious trouble. The older woman living there explained her situation and I could not help but feel a need and a desire to help her. She currently works about 15 hours a week depending on our local economy ad her salary is not enough to cover everything, especially home repairs. The home is falling apart and needs numerous repairs, both large and small.
The property owners, Ms. Ernestine Ball, Mrs. Vonda “Missy” Baldree, Mr. Joe Ball and I have joined forces to try and help give her a second chance. This mobile home is the only thing she has ever owned and we made a pledge, to God and each other, to make sure she can keep it. She has traveled a rough road in her life, no breaks at all, but she never complains or asks for help, she just keeps on going, Her story is not about politics, the economy or insurance costs. Her life is much simpler; it’s about basic survival. It would do us all some good to take a lesson from her about life and the things we take for granted.
I once had her read a paper, and she had to use a magnifying glass over her glasses to be able to see. I was shocked! Life has not been kind to her, but we know that the Lord will shine on those who believe. I believe the Lord has given us this mission to make sure one of our fellow Tiftonites is not left in the cold.
Our team has a strong work ethic, but no funds to speak of. Therefore, I am asking for any help the community can give us. We are asking for any supplies that can be donated to rebuild floors and for general remodel or a single-wide mobile home. The supplies needed are general lumber, white interior paint, 3/4-inch plywood, underpinnning, cleaning supplies and most importantly, volunteers to help with this project. We would like anyone who has needed skills for mobile home floor replacement and mobile home repairs to join us in this project. In this economy, I know if I have something to eat and a place to lay my head, there is a good chance that someone in our community does not. I also know that although I cannot help everyone, I can make sure I help this one!
Thank you in advance for your support and please keep us in your prayers. God bless!
