Nellie Opal Wynn Henderson, 93, of Tifton died Sunday, Aug. 21, 2011, at Golden Living Center. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, in the chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. The Rev. Jason Jones will officiate with a eulogy to be given by Bret Henderson, with burial to follow at Oakridge Cemetery.

Grandsons Jamy Henderson, Derick Henderson, Bret Henderson, Cliff Henderson, Larry Henderson, Mark Gilbert, Gary Gilbert, Wade Barrett and Richard Cavanaugh will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 tonight in the chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.

Mrs. Henderson was born Feb. 26, 1918 in Turner County, and was the daughter of James William Wynn and Nancy Jane Alexander Wynn, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Mitchell Henderson; 10 siblings, Mattie Wynn, Bertye Cravey, Lee J. Wynn, Clara Westbrook, Elma Picklesimer, Lena Mae Tyson, Jessie Ola Ellis, Clyde Carver, Eva Wood and W. C. Wynn; one granddaughter, Dee Dee H. Cavanaugh; and one great-granddaughter, Jennifer Gilbert. She was a retired secretary from Calhoun Oil Company. She was a member of New River Baptist Church.

Mrs. Henderson is survived by her children, Carolyn Henderson Ellerbee, James Royce Henderson Sr., and wife Barbara, William Ray Henderson, and wife Susan and Wayne Larry Henderson, and wife Lynn, all of Tifton and Mildred Henderson Luvin of Americus; two sisters, Lillie Greenwald of Kernsville, N.C. and Shirley Carr of Tifton; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial gifts be made to Hospice of Tift Area, P. O. Box 747, Tifton, GA 31793.
