Valerie Bentley

TIFTON – On Nov. 3, Valerie Bentley entered an RV parked at No. 20 Whitley Road, at Paradise Village RV Park n Brookfield. She lit a cigarette, according to reports, and a propane leak caused an explosion that sent Bentley flying from the RV. She was airlifted to Shands Hospital in Gainesville, Florida, with burns covering much of her body.

According to a Go Fund Me page, the 34-year-old suffered burns to 65 percent of her body. The page states that Bentley never lost consciousness. The majority of her burns are on her arms, legs and back.

Bentley was placed on a ventilator and a coma was induced at the time of her admission to the hospital. She has since had multiple skin graph surgeries, and has received 4 pints of blood. She is out of the coma, but still on the ventilator.

The fundraising page has been set up to help with Bentley’s medical bills, as well as travel expenses for her mother. Bentley has no medical insurance.
