Tift County Sheriff Gene Scarbrough reports the following activity for the sheriff’s office for the month of December 2015.

Deputies conducted 1,890 business and property checks,and 452 mobile home park and subdivision checks. Deputies answered 2,402 calls for service, and served 75 warrants, 74 civil papers and 70 subpoenas.

Deputies made 92 arrests during the month. Some of the persons were arrested on multiple charges. Deputies arrested persons on 18 probation/parole violations, 12 for property crime offenses, seven for crimes against a person, 11 drug violations, six for failure to appear, five arrests for child support violations, seven for forgery/fraud offenses and 21 for various other non-traffic charges. The sheriff said deputies completed 445 incident reports and 34 accident reports, and issued 440 traffic citations and 109 traffic warnings.

Traffic stops lead to the arrests of three persons on drug charges, two for driving under the influence, two wanted persons and ten for driving with suspended or revoked license.

Deputies patrolled 58,342 miles during the month. The transport division handled 26 transports totaling 87.91 hours and 4,378 miles.

Deputies verified home addresses on 47 registered sex offenders residing in Tift County during the month.
