TIFTON — The school calendars for the next two years for Tift County schools were approved at the Feb. 12 Board of Education meeting.

2019-2020

The first day for school for the 2019-2020 school year is set for Aug. 5 and the last day of school is May 22.

There are 31 days where students are out during the year. Fall break is Oct. 18-21, Thanksgiving break is Nov. 25-29, and the winter break is set for Dec. 23 through Jan. 3. Spring break is scheduled from Apr. 6 through 10.

2020-2021

Aug. 3 is the first day of school for the 2020-2021 school year and May 21 is the last day.

There are 30 days where students are out during the 2020-2021 school year.

Fall break is Oct. 16-19, Thanksgiving break is Nov. 23-27, winter break is Dec. 21 through Jan. 1 and spring break is Apr. 5-9.

The board renewed the date and time for the regular monthly meetings. Board of Education meetings will be the second Tuesday of each month at 6 p.m. at the TCBOE office, located at 207 North Ridge Ave. All meetings of the TCBOE are open to the pubic.

The Tift County High School Future Farmers of America were recognized for being ranked 4th in the state at the board meeting by advisor Brittaney Schwing.
