TIFTON — Tift County’s Blue Devils are back on the links. Golf started at the end of February for the team and they will be back in action Monday.
The Blue Devils have played twice so far this year, both times on the coast. The tournament was the Camden Classic on Feb. 23 and last Saturday, the Devils played at Jekyll Island at the Johnny Paulk Invitational.

“We played pretty good at Camden and took a step back at Jekyll,” said head coach Marc Beach.
The 2019 version of the Blue Devils has plenty of depth; Beach said he has 10 on the roster.
Tate Greer is the squad’s only senior and Jacob Beach is its lone junior. There are four sophomores: Brady Walker, Drew Hall, Daniel Berkman and Jake Hasty. He has four freshmen on the roster as well. Greer, Hasty and Jacob Beach were all on the course when Tift competed at the meet last year.
“It’s a good young group,” said Coach Beach. And very competitive. He said no one has a set spot and places could change every week. “They have a chance to move in and out,” he said.
One group will be going to Lee County Monday for a tournament. Others will go to Athens Mar. 16 for the Athens Area Classic.
Other tournaments are the Packer Classic at Moultrie Mar. 23, the Brickyard Invitational at Macon Apr. 15, the Neil Graham Invitational in Douglas Apr. 22 and the MCI tournament Apr. 23 in Columbus.
Tift will be on its own course twice this season.
The Blue Devil Invitational is set for Apr. 8 at Spring Hill Country Club. They will again tee off at their own course for the area tournament Apr. 29.
“Our goal is to try to win region,” said Beach.
If they make it to the state tournament, they will play at Hamilton Mill course at Dacula.
