Tift County 4-H visits Cloverleaf Camp

Tift County 4-H’ers and leaders attended Cloverleaf 4-H Camp July 8-12.

TIFTON — Cloverleaf 4-H Camp is for youth in 5th and 6th grades and was held at Fortson 4-H Center in Hampton July 8 -12.

This year, 39 youth and leaders from Tift County attended Cloverleaf Camp, according to a press release.

Cloverleaf 4-H Camp helps teach youth independence and allows them to have fun while learning, the release states. 4-H’ers participated in classes like farm-to-plate, rock wall climbing, wilderness survival, herpetology, ziplining and canoeing.

In addition to these educational classes, they were able to experience trips off center to Stone Mountain for the famous Laser Show Spectacular, White Water and Atlanta Motor Speedway where they were able to watch races and meet some of the drivers.

The Tift County girl’s cabin won the Grade A Garage Award  twice while at camp meaning they had the cleanest cabin twice during the week.

Tift County teen Lladers Dana Wells, Seth Jones and Sydney Pridgon provided great leadership and friendship to make an awesome experience for everyone involved, the release states.

4-H’ers were able to apply for camp scholarships that are made possible through the support of the community, the release states.. Tift County 4-H thanks all who donated to the 4-H camp scholarship fund and bought tomato plants.

The Cloverleaf campers were Anton Gregus, Philycia Hamilton, Rylee Hayes, Thomas He, Corban Jackson, Hayden Masterson, Gavin McDuffie, Chloe McDuffie, Jack Medina, Garrett Morgan, William Pack, Courtland Pellegrino,  Reagan Perri, Karson Ponder, Kay Bailey Robinson, Braylon Samuel, Aidan Scott, Pranav Shankar, Riley Shiver, Braydon Stanton, Tess Veazey, Anna Windmoller, James Wise, Aubrie York, Leighellyn, Bengston, Jaden Atkinson and Gracie Goode.

The group was chaperoned by Tift County 4-H .eaders Dalton Bowie, Natalie Bennett, Ashley Carroll and Justin Hand.
