Rezoning, equipment purchases discussed at county meeting

TIFTON — The Tift County Board of Commissioners discussed a public hearing concerning rezoning 4.6 acres near the intersection of Brighton Road and Highway 125 North from Agriculture to Community Commercial.
The public hearing will be held at the Oct. 14 meeting.
The board presented a proclamation recognizing Go Light Up Your World Day as Oct. 23.
The board also discussed:
• Replacing copiers for the finance and Emergency Operations Center/E911 departments for $3,800/year for four years.
• Purchasing two mowers for the recreation department.
• Renewing an agreement with Watkins & Associates for general engineering services.
The next meeting of the Tift County Board of Commissioners is 6 p.m., Oct. 14 at the Charles Kent Administration Building, 225. N. Tift Avenue.
