Annual Thanksgiving Bowl crowns tourney championships

TIFTON — Youth football championships were crowned as the Thanksgiving Bowl and the Georgia Recreation and Park Association finals were held at E.B. Hamilton Park.
Tift County won one game, but lost another in the Thanksgiving Bowl portion Tuesday. Tift defeated Moultrie in the 10/115 B finals, 12-6. They fell to Adel-Cook in a wild one in the 8/100 B division, 48-34. JiShaun Robinson was the MVP on offense in the Moultrie game.

Adel-Cook merited offensive and defensive MVPs in the other battle. Dawson Davis won on offense, Hayden Merritt on defense.
In other finales, Lee County defeated Sumter County 12-0 in 8U/B. Dooly County won over Lanier County, 20-8 in 8U C.
Sumter County blitzed Crisp County, 45-0, in 10UB and Fitzgerald defeated Dooly County, 34-12, in 10U/C.
Lanier County was a 33-24 winner over Dooly County in 12U/C and Sumter County defeated Crisp County 20-6 in 12U/B.
Other Thanksgiving Bowl championships saw Grady County take a 30-14 victory over Sylvester-Worth. Grady County shut out Moultrie 20-0 in 12/130 B. Bainbridge scored 18 to Wilcox County’s 12 in 12/130 C.
