Tift reports 130-plus virus cases

TIFTON – Tift County reported more than 130 new virus cases and no deaths during the past week, according to the Georgia Department of Public Health.

Tift added more than 40 additional cases from the previous week which tallied more than 90 new COVID-19 cases, according to the GDPH.

Tift County’s COVID-19 death toll remained at 67 deaths related to COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic, according to the GDPH early this week. Tift County has not reported a virus-related death in the past two weeks. 

Tift County has reported more than 2,300 cases since the pandemic began earlier this year, according to the GDPH.

The county has reported about 260 Tift residents have been hospitalized because of the coronavirus since the start of the pandemic, according to the GDPH.
