TIFTON- The city has kicked off a new program called Chief Chat with the police chief Steve Hyman and the fire chief Bobby Bennett to discuss helpful safety tips for the community.

Hyman was the first to kick the video series off with advice about the police department’s anonymous tip line.

Hyman encouraged residents to use the tip line for reporting suspicious activity that police should look into to help prevent crime from happening.

The number for the tip line is 229-391-3991 and callers are not required to leave their name and phone number Hyman said.

Hyman stresses to dial 911 if there is an emergency going on or a life threatening situation.

If you want to watch Hyman’s video about using the tip line go to the city’s website by typing www.tifton.net. The city will post more Chief Chats on their website in the future.

Residents can email their questions or concerns for the chiefs to see at myvoice@tifton.net. The chiefs are happy to answer common questions about police and fire departments.
