EVERETT, Wash. — Cade Marlowe is moving up in the Seattle Mariners organization.

Marlowe was promoted to the High-A Everett AquaSox June 17 after beginning the year with the Modesto Nuts. His promotion comes after a .301 start at Modesto, with six homers and 29 RBIs in 34 games.

In his first eight games at Everett, Marlowe carries a .237 average. He has one homer, 12 RBIs and has scored three runs.

Everett is a city Marlowe knows well. He spent all of 2019 with the AquaSox, then a Class A short season team. He hit .301 there over 62 games. At the end of 2019, Marlowe was promoted to West Virginia, but never played there after COVID-19 caused the cancelation of the Minor League season.

Meanwhile, Tifton’s other Minor League prospect continues to excel in Class AAA Memphis.

Connor Thomas picked up his second win of the season June 23, defeating the Toledo Mud Hens, 4-0. Thomas threw 5.2 scoreless innings and struck out seven. It was the first time Toledo had been shut out since May 7.

Thomas has a 3.70 ERA through 24.1 innings with the Redbirds. He was promoted to Memphis on May 25.
