ABAC cross country debuts Sept. 9

ldwin Agricultural College’s newest sport will debut Friday, Sept. 9. The Golden Stallions and Fillies will be at Georgia Military College for the Brickyard Invitational cross country meet.
Cross country was announced as an ABAC sport in May, with Mike Beeman as head coach. Beeman long coached cross country at Tift County High and previously helped start the sport at UMass-Lowell.

Friday’s meet is one of four listed on the schedule. Sept. 24 sees them at West Georgia, Oct. 8 at Georgia College and State University, with regionals Oct. 10.
The Fillies cross country roster lists six runners: Jennifer Chambers, Kelly McKiernan, Katie McMillan, Reagan Pate, Katherine Wright and Brianna Zupko. Pate and McMillan both ran for Beeman at Tift County. Zupko previously ran for Worth County and Georgia Southwestern State. ABAC’s men’s roster lists Mason Bailey, Gabriel Lewis and Tucker Parrish.
