TIFTON — Tift County is bumping up its home doubleheader by one day this week. Head coach Taylor Barber announced that the Houston County, originally scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 29, will instead be on Wednesday, Sept. 28.

Weather is the reason for the decision. Hurricane Ian is expected to dump rain on Tifton Thursday afternoon, with The Weather Channel also predicting wind gusts of 20 miles per hour. Friday and Saturday are also expected to be rainy.

Wednesday is currently not predicted to have rain, but wind may be a factor.

Tift is still slated to play a doubleheader Tuesday at Thomas County Central.
