CHULA — Tiftarea Academy and Valwood have moved up their football game this week from Friday to Thursday, Sept. 29. Game time will be 6 p.m. at the Panther Pit.

Head coach Erik Soliday announced the change Tuesday morning. The Panthers are the latest of many South Georgia schools adjusting their schedule this week for Hurricane Ian, whose full impact is expected to hit the area Friday.

The date is not the only thing impacted in the Valwood game. Homecoming itself has been changed. Instead of this week, the ceremonies will be Oct. 14, the Deerfield-Windsor game.

Today, Sept. 27, will be very busy on campus. Softball Senior Night will carry on as scheduled and there will also be both the Jr. Pro and middle school games at the stadium.
