Blue Devils basketball announces Midnight Madness

TIFTON — Midnight Madness is coming to Tift County High School and the Blue Devils basket ball teams.
Head coach Tommy Blackshear has announced that the celebration begins at 9:30 p.m. Nov. 11 and will last until midnight. Players will take the court at 9:30, with the final 30 minutes for meeting Tift’s coaches.

Blackshear said the event will be open to the public. Admission are a donation to the program of one of the following: Liquid detergent, six-pack or more of water, six-pack or more of a sports drink (Gatorade or Powerade) or $5. Kids ages 12 and under will be admitted free.
Tift’s season will begin Dec. 2 at Cook. The Lady Devils begin a little earlier, Nov. 12 at Hillgrove. The first home game of the year for the teams will be Dec. 13 against Westover.
Blackshear’s squad has already been working out, minus any players who might join from the football team.
Tift has one of Georgia’s best high school traditions. The Blue Devils have the longest active streak in the state of appearances in the GHSA state tournament.
