Lady Devils fall to Hillgrove

POWDER SPRINGS — Hillgrove brought an experienced team to their own tournament Nov. 12 and Tift County’s Lady Devils felt the results.

Hillgrove won the season opener for both teams, 61-42.

The teams were close through three quarters. Each scored 12 in the opening frame. The Lady Hawks were ahead 30-26 at halftime and 40-36 through the 3rd.

Tift’s offense was very balanced. Jalaya Miller scored 10 points and O’ashia Cushion and Jimmya Cushion scored 9 points each. Faith Hillmon added 6 and Jakembre Beckhom notched 5.

The Lady Devils hit six three-pointers in the contest.
