ADEL — Tift County’s Blue Devils and Lady Devils joined up for the first time for the 2022-23 season Friday, Dec. 2, and found the basketball to their liking. Playing on the road, the margin of victory in both varsity games was more than Cook scored.
The Lady Devils ran away with a 64-19 win while the Devils completely shut down the Hornets, 59-20.

“We were solid on defense all night long,” said Blue Devils head coach Tommy Blackshear in a text message.
Tift was ahead 16-6 at the end of the 1st quarter and allowed only two more points during the half.
Will Clark led the way with 14 points and Davis Byrnes contributed 10 points.
It was a fruitful night for the Lady Devils all over the field. Head coach Julie Conner’s team knocked town 10 3-pointers and 11 from 2-point range. They were up 37-11 at halftime.
Jimmya Cushion scored 14 for the night. At halftime, she had the same amount of points as the Lady Hornets —11 each. Jimeleyah Cushion added 11 points. O’ashia Cushion scored 8.
